Itsmerick

Hi there, fellow Deviants. I know it hasn't been a year yet but here I am. As always, I've been busy. I made a steamer trunk for my daughter for christmas. I also carved a chess set, ( I'm rather please with that one.) a bobblehead and a little rooster. Photos too follow. I made a couple of boxes too, some wooden guitar picks and chopstick and hair sticks. ( See, told you i was busy.)

Oh yeah, as the heading says, I've also opened an Etsy shop. I'm not the only one making things for the shop, so there are thing there that have never been seen on Deviantart. DAMN! I told myself that I would make a journal entry at least once a year but I've missed it, by about eleven months. I've been busy, really, mainly with projects that won't end up on DA. Like right now, I'm working on an aquarium stand for my son. Maybe I'll take some photos. I made some boxes and some wooden dice but I've been drawing too. I was doing a drawing of money but I interupted that when a friend asked me to do a drawing of her mon. After I started , she asked if I could first make a little box for her sister. Being the nice guy that I am, I did. Then I had some catching up to do. Mom's dawing is finished but I'm afraid the money drawing will have to wait because I've started a new drawing of my beautiful daughter.
That's it for now. You can expect an update in about a year, maybe.

Yes there’s no doubt about it , I’m in a funk. I haven’t touched a pencil in over two months now. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that it’s necessarily a bad thing. It just means that I’ve shifted my focus from drawing to wood working. I’m sure I’ll be drawing again as soon as I get a few projects out of my system.

I’ve been toying with the idea of making a new mailbox for over a year now, and it’s finally done. The old one that came with the house had seen better days. Plus, I was asked to make a pair of corbels to support a fireplace mantle. I’ll have pictures when they’re done. And last but not least, I’ve started making a coffin shaped pencil box. Busy, busy, busy.

I once heard an auther say( I can't remember who)that there's nothing that inspires you to write like a royalty cheque. Well, I don't know about that because I've never sold a drawing, but I can honestly say that nothing has ever inspired me to draw as much as recognition from my peers.
